When Eric and I first met he shared one of his most favorite childhood memories was a trip his family took back East. They drove across the country and made lifetime memories. That has always been a dream of his. It then became a dream of ours. A few years ago we decided Joshua would soon be a teenager and now was the time. But then gas prices started to sky-rocket......and it takes a huge bus to move all of us around. We didn't know how we could make it happen.
So we decided maybe we should fly. We were blessed and saved up tons of airmiles. And little by little our dream pieces started to become a reality. We may not be driving but we will still arrive in Virginia and see many amazing historical places. And we will be all together as a family. There have been a few pauses on the way. We had to postpone our first schedule because of work. And we discovered last spring break another little Bell was on the way. So I will be 6 months pregnant. But on September 3, 2009 we will all board the plane together for 27 days of adventure and fun. We have planned, researched, and studied everything to gain the most from our dream vacation. And often we get the group rate! See it pays to have so many kids. HA!!!
Something that will be very special about this trip is that my dad will be going along the first half of the trip. He is a history buff and has taught Joshua history for 4 years. He has never been back East. He is going to love it! And be of great help. Half way through, our niece Sophia, will join us as well. The kids can't wait to have their cousin come with us. We are looking forward to being together as a family and feel so blessed the Lord has allowed this dream to become a reality. We don't take for granted that we are able to do this and want to cherish and relish each moment. Virginia here we come.................
